Planning involves the future and helps shape what will be. We don't live in a perfect world and it is unfair. But at this moment you have a opportunity to do the right thing. Regardless of peer pressure you can make a decision that will help you sleep ai night. I Gve right down the mad from the proposed development. I have two large Hayden toango trees that my children sell during mango season. Every once in a while I see the Hawaiian Hawk roost and look to the sky for prey or predators- That alone should protect the green belt and critical habitat of this species and the Hawaiian OwL The neighbor next to the proposed development often sees the owl and the hawk. Lehua Lani LLC is an inside deal. Density increases tax revenue. Instead of letting local people own homes these will be bought by real estate sales people and people that don't live here.. Disaster evacuation mutes run along the coast, how is that called planning? I have not met one fellow resident of Alii Drive that feels this is a wise project. Behind the LLC are local owners of Alii Gardens and Huggos. The Planning Department is not acting on the best interest of the people they serve they are trying to force a project down the throats of the people that live here. It definitely will not be housing for the local population. One ridiculous report was that newcomers are objecting. None of the old timers feel this is good for the community. Leave green space for habitat. Plan roads to conduct traffic. This is called planning for the furore. Ask any tourist that has come here for years, the quality of their experience has diminished because of the lack of foresight in tbe phuuring process.
