Deaz Council Members:
Thank you for holding the recent public hearing in Kona regarding the rezoning request for the
Nani Kona Aina property.
We aze in opposition to the zone change as we testified at the public hearing. Every one else
who testified at the hearing, with the exception of the developer's representative, also opposed
this zone change.
The issues of traffic, infrastructure, cultural sites, possible endangered species, density, and
water to the property have not been adequately addressed. The Planning Commission
recommended disapproval until these issues are addressed.
This zone change is not ready for approval and should be denied. We are not able to attend the
meeting in Hilo on April 20 as we will be off island, but please enter this letter into testimony.
