Chung, Chair Committee on Finance Hawaii County Council 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, HI 96720 RE: Comm. 572 (Bill 254) AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING VARIOUS PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII Councilman Chung and Committee Members: I am John Ray, Chairman of the South Kohala Traffic Safety Committee, testifying in support of Comm.572 (Bill 254). The South Kohala Traffic Safety Committee has been meeting continually for almost 40 years. We work with the County and State to develop strategies to promote traffic safety through better planning and design on existing and future transportation routes. We are working to identify key road corridors for construction or improvement in the South Kohala area to be considered for funding under this Bill. Thank you for your support.
