RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAU YEAR AND OF
MORE KHAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR A HIGH VOLUME
COPIERILASER COLOR PRINTERISCANNER MACHINE-FOR THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be
approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into amulti-year lease agreement for five (5) years for
one (1) high volume copier/laser color printer/scanner machine for the Planning Department; and
WHEREAS, presently the Planning Department does not have a scanner; and
WHEREAS, scanned documents will allow the linking of files between the department's GIS system and
its new Permit Tracking System that is being developed; and
WIiEREAS, acquisition of this machine should increase the productivity and efficiency of the department
as they will be able to reduce copying and be able to share documents digitally between their offices.
NOW, THEREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVED 8Y THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement of a high volume
copier/laser color printer/scanner machine for the Planning Department.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the
County under the terms of the agreement.
