Dear Mr. Arakaki,
As the Director for a community volunteer group in Kona, I would like to write for
support of Bill 270. We are a non profit group promoting physical activity in West
Hawaii. Our major role has been in developing and improving the Old Airport State
Park. Hundreds of people use that area every day and weekends. Our open spaces
are rapidly disappearing and this is of great concern to us. Issues of obesity, drug
use, increase in diseases like diabetes are becoming common place.
Our open spaces are essential to us and a healthy community. I urge you to vote
yes on this bill and preserve our land.
