Aloha Finance Committee Members!
[n my opinion, Bi112'0 is one of the most exciting bills to have
come in front of you! It is a very positive move to insure and
assure that we will have a land protection fund year in and year out.
This will be helpful to purchase and protect important community
lands here in this County.
I encourage you, not only to support the Bill, but also to increase
the amount from 1 % to 2% to be dedicated from the real property tax
revenue_ Since 2% works for Maui and Kauai, it would be good for us
too.
It would also he good to add a phrase that at least 50"/° of the monies
collected will (NOT could) be distributed on the west sides of Hawaii
island. Obviously, this is a major concern to the west side and you
can mandate that the west side will be treated fairly.
