Dear Council:
This is to solicit your favorable action on Bill 270, which would provide for a public
vote on the question of establishing a Land Protection Fund for Hawaii County.
In our 30-year experience with the Big Island, we have become increasingly
alarmed by the loss of valuable land resources-forests, beaches, watersheds, and
more-to development. We sincerely appreaate this Council's willingness to consider this
long-overdue action.
