As recent and possibly future visitors to Hawaii, we value the importance
of the protection of public open space, along with the conservation of
ecological, historical, and cultural resources. Many people, like ourselves,
invest a good portion of their expendable income in exploring natural areas
where native flora and fauna can be found. When choosing a travel
destination, we reseazch the availability of access to public land where we
can appreciate intact ecosystems, preserved archeological and historical
sites, and unique landforms. Hawaii is rich with these resources, and we
believe that the local population will agree with a land protection
initiative.
While reviewing this bill, please consider the impact to the local
economy made by many visitors like ourselves.
