Dear Councitmembers:

We protest this rezoning because we fear this sets a precedent for rezoning all of Ka1r to
Ag 5, and we don't want so many people hero Is this s special tLvor, or can. we all now
apply for AG 5 rezoning?
The Hestei's land has a fantastic view and therefore will fetch a high price, too high for
farming. Instead large view houses grill be bulk creating a residential area, Therefore,
please leave it as Ag 20 land.
We feel that due course of law was not followed because hardly anyone in Kau knew
about the meetings. I just found out yesterday.
Why wasnY a large board set up to explain what is at stake?
The Hilo Times only distributes a few hundred newspapers in our area, but tive have 3270
postal addresses.
As people are just now becoming aware ofthis re-zoning, we recommend that you
ds:ay any final decisions till June, for further input. I can guarantee that the majority of
Kau is against the retuning, and will bring petitions against it. As you know, the green
party wins in Kau, we want to keep things green, not paved candor with developwent_
