Dear County Council Members,
We, the Board of Hawaiian Acres Road Corporation, believe it is the County's
responsibility to notify the lot owners of Hawaiian Acres about the County's intent to
take ownership of a portion of our privately-owned road lot, that portion being the
Puna Emergency Access Road.
Our Charter directs us as a Board to maintain the roads, not make decisions about
ownership or to divest the rights of our members by sanctioning the County's
takeover of our private road.
We had hoped that we could have a partnership with the County in maintenance for
our portion of the PEAR.
