1 AM IN OPPOSITION TO RESOLUTION 194-04, county ownership of the Hawaiian Acres
Road leading to Aitlaloa (emergency access road).
As a tax payer I am concerned about taking over the Puna Access Rd.
The expense of bringing the Hawaiian Acres Rd up to county standards would be very great.
The Puna Access road do to its shape and running through a residential area would not
adequately be able to handle all the traffic (tour buses etc.).
I also understand that the master plan has in it plans for putting in a highway going from Ute
Pahoa Rd behind all the subdivisions coming out in the Volcano area. To me that is a more
workable plan for a county highway, not an ACCESS road through a subdivision.
Would it not behove us to wait for the Townscape findings before we start this project?
VOTE NO on RESOLUTION 194-04
