Dear Mr. Yamamoto,
I am writing to comment On the Installation of the stop sign at the
inbrssctlon of Neni Kailua Drive and Kakelina Street, Kallu¦-Kona. I
reside et 75.411 Nani Kailua Drive,
I went to commend the installation Of this stop signl I It has been long
overdue: The Increase of tramc on Nan{ Kailua and espedaliy the
unmonitored and constant speeding of cars up and down the atr~eet, has been a
source of fruatretlon for most of the residents on this street. This is a
rosidential neighborhood, yet you would think k was a highway, the way
speeding drivers use the street. 1 would hope that another stop sign could
also be installed at the intersection of Nani Kailua and Melalina Street,
which would help deter the speeding at the top of the hill.
Thank you for your assistance with this project.
Sincer0y,
Stuanne Skeetera

EubJaot: atop signs Natl Kallua
Waron,
I would Itke to give you some feedback on the stop signs that wan installed at Neni Kailw and Kakallna. I
iwl it has been a great benefit to our community in slowing down traffic. I woultl Ilke to introduce another
area ware stop signs wand be ban~eial especially for our school children. The Interaeotkm of Walo antl
Nanl Kallue. School children have their bus stops them end also have to cross in tlta crosswalks. So H oars
know they have to atop there, I feel k would be safer for not only our children but would also be benefldal to
our community. Thank you very much for your oonslderatbn, pbasa e-mail w call me it you have any
qusstlene. Sincerely,, Angie Klnhare (Kailas Vlew Estates) N326-5484

Subject; 4 Way Stop at Neni Keilue Dr. 8 Kekalina St.
Aloha,
I live at the top Of the Kailua View aubdlvislon on Lulu Place. I am also
a runner and make the big loop up Nani Keilue every evening. I mention
this because you don't really get a good sense of traffic speed unless you
walk or run along Nanl Kailua. 11My oondusion.....a signficant number of
people are driving at 45+ up and down that hill. As much as I dislike stop
signs, I am total favor of adding more to this road. The most recent one
has definitely slowed traffic, et least near vidnity Of the sign. That's
for people who stop. Others just run it.
One of these days, a little kid is going to get zapped by some 45+mph idiot
driver.
