Re: Acceptance of Donations
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which authorizes
the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal property, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code, which states that any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance
shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we request the Council's approval of the
following donation:
A monetary donation of $50 to the Department of Parks & Recreation, for programs at the
Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo, made in memory of Mrs. Miyako Takeda and Mrs. Joyce Watts, by
Patrick & Patricia Milligan, 14671 Danborough Road, Tustin, CA 92680-8755.
At the request of the donor, we ask that a letter of acknowledgement and appreciation of this
donation be sent to Mrs. Janice Iwamoto, 19362 Pilario Street, Rowland Heights, CA 91748 (in
memory of her mother, Miyako Takeda) and to Mr. Bill Watts, 4319 Broadmoor Street, Covina CA
91722 (in memory of his wife, Joyce Watts).
