As required by Resolution No. 46-01, reports indicating the number of plants eradicated and the number of complaints received from the public, the type of complaint and the complaint disposition are attached. CORREIA #35 Date: June 8, 2004 HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT MARIJUANA ERADICATION/HELICOPTER NOISE COMPLAINT FORM CCFO No.: 2004-007 Complaint No.: 1 Date/Time Reported: 05-25-04/1000 Date/Time Occurred: 05-25-04/1000 Location: Road 4, Hawaiian Acres S/D, Puna Reported By: Jerome SEBENROC Phone No.: 968-8196 Complaint: Writer telephonically contacted the complainant in this case who stated that on the above date & time, a very large black with white helicopter (not military) flew about 500' above his nursery operation and "slowed down" above his dwelling. Reportee added that he is concerned about helicopter safety issues. Caller was also upset over the HCPD Marijuana Eradication Missions, adding that police enforcement should be directed toward the "ice" problem instead. CORREIA Date/Time: 06-02-04/1100 Aerial Observer: Mark FRISKEL Pilot: Wes HERBOL Owner of Helicopter: Drug Enforcement Agency Reason for Being in Area: Federal training. Time in Area: 5 minutes No. of Plants Recovered: 0 Immediate Action Taken: Comments: A police investigation was conducted and it was determined that the helicopter described by the complainant is identified to be owned by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Hilo post of duty. According to the pilots, they were conducting training sessions in the area described by the caller on the reported date. This helicopter was not part of the HCPD Marijuana Eradication Mission on this day. The pilots wer~or~ of the~omplaint and will use more caution in the future. Submitted ~Det.
