Re: Fire Department Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $2,000 from the Daniel R.
Sayre Memorial Foundation, c/o 65-1279 Kawaihae Road, Parker Square, Room 203,
Kamuela, Hawaii 96743. The funds will be used for the purchase of a Fire C.A.T.
Portable Command Post 2001-CP radio.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating
this $2,000 to Fire's Rescue Equipment -Private account.

Prepare a resolution to accept a monetary gift of $2,000 from World Triathlon Corporation on behalf of the
Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation. Please send a letter of appreciation and a copy of the resolution
acknowledging this gift to: Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund, rJo Hawaii Community Foundation, 65-1279
Kawaihae Road, Parker Square, Rm 203, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743
and to:
World Triathlon Corporation, 75-5722 Kuakini Hwy, Kuakini Tower#101, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740-2119
Prepare an ordinance to amend the FY 2005 operating budget with the following additions:

010-221-5221.31-458 Rescue Equipment -Private $2,000
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation was awarded a grant from World Triathlon Corporation and Ironman
Foundation, and in tum, donated the funds to the Hawaii County Fire Department. According to the donor,
the $2,000 donation may be used to purchase equipment for the department. The funds will be used to
purchase a "Fire C.A.T. Portable Command Post 2001-CP" radio.
