I support a dedicated land Protectlon Fund that is guaranteed to receh?e 2% of exlsUnp
progeny tax revenue each year in order to help purchase and precect critical watershed
lands, coastal and beach areas, huntlng, gathering, and rocreatlenal lands, and
important Natlue Nawallan cultural sites.
I understand that Maui and Kauai esters were given the chance to establlah such land
funds fortbeir ceumles in 2002, and oyerwhelminghl approved them wab 73%suppert.I
urge the Hawai'I County Ceuncll to appreye 6[11210 with ma abere terms, allowing gig
Island rotero to decide in the November 2004 electlon n Nawai'i County should also have
a dedicated land Protectlon Fund.
