Subject: Hawaiian Acres -Emergency Road connecting to Ainaloa Subdivision. w
I have recently been made aware of some Issue regarding the county's acquisition of the roadway
connecting`Ainaloa Subdivision, through Hawaiian Acres via 8 Rd, to the highway. As one who
greatly approciates the unpolished rustic beauty of Hawaiian Acres and hopes that it rotains the better
part of its charm, 1 am also appreciative of the addition of the telephone and the slower advance of
electric utility. I think that the paving of 8 road a few years ago greatly improved the quality and
convenience of life for bosh residerns of the Acres and others nearby. I recall that shortly after the
road was finished, en axldent closed the lower highway for many hours and only the new roadway
was able to alleviate what was a serious problem. The new convenience of the road has also
Increased its usage and I am given to understand that the county stands ready to provide whatever
improvements and maintenance are necessary to keep the roadway clear and safe for children going
to school and parents going to work. That being the case, I cheerfully endorse the county's effort ±e
acquire and manage the by-pass as is expected.
Thanks and Aloha, Cyrus Faryar
