Curtis Tyler as FROM: Councilman Fred C. Holschuh Gn c ~A SUBJECT: Bi1128Q Dra$ 6 Dear Mr. Tyler: C ti..- ~ _ r As you requested, I am sending comments on Bi11280 to you. First, let me thank; and congratulate you on the tremendous job you have done, with input from the community, on this bill. I have given a copy to the Honokaa Business Association, so you may be heazing from them. I wanted to comment on a few things on Bi11280 and will do so in bullet format. ¦ On page 1, Sec. 3-1 (a)(2) and page 2, Sec. 3-I (a)(3), the term "tourist trade" is used. I personally Snd this a bit offensive and would suggest "visitor industry" sounds better. New Orleans calls it "hospitality industry". ¦ Page 7, # (33) "window" which admits light and air..., I would say "light and/or air" as there are opaque or wooden louvers in some windows and plate glass windows that don't admit air. ¦ Page 24, Sec. 3-48, the last sentence ends with process." I can't see a reason for the quotation mark there. These aze minor things. The bill seems sound to me. The only complaint I heard was not about Bi11280, Draft 6, but about a lack of enforcement of existing law. Many thanks for listening and for all the work you've done. Aloha, Freed C.
