In a memo dated July 1, 2004 relating to the subject bill, you raised a question whether §23-94 of the Subdivision
Code conflicted with the proposed address bill. That section requires the chief engineer to approve the street
name sign and the design shall conform with standard specifications of DPW. We do not see that as a conflict.
The bill specifies that the design and installation of street name signs shall meet the minimum standards of the
department of public works (14-87(b)). Please explain further your concern if this response does not answer your
question. DPW plans to amend Chapter 22 in the near future, at which time they will remove the street name
article since it will duplicate the proposed bill.
