Re: Resolution 203-04, Authorizing the Acquisition of Private Property by Eminent Domain or
Negotiation for a Pahoa Village Resource Park
On July 9, 2004, I transmitted to you an appraisal by Lawrence Appraisal Group Hawaii-Inc., dated
June 18, 2004, for Ms. Monika Mallick. The appraisal showed a market value for the property (TMK:
1-5-002-024) at $810,000.
Ms. Mallick was later informed that the subject property contained four legal lots and subsequently
ordered an amended appraisal from the Lawrence Appraisal Group. For your information, the
amended appraisal shows a new market value of $900,000. Should any member of the County
Council want to review the appraisal or want a personal copy, please let me know and I will have it
duplicated. We were provided just one copy by Ms. Mallick's attorney.
