Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Ms. Rene Siracusa of Council District 5 to the
County of Hawaii Planning Commission. Ms. Siracusa has been a resident of
Hawaii for over 25 years. She has served as a behavioral health specialist,
social worker, and mental health coordinator. Ms. Siracusa remains very active
in her community and belongs to organizations such as Malama O Puna, Pahoa
Weed and Seed, Puna Friends of the Parks, and Puna Malama Pono.
Ms. Siracusa states that she is a member of the Green Party and if confirmed,
will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2008. She will replace Aurelio Mina,
whose term expired on December 31, 2003.
