RESOLUTION NO. ~
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF SAY CLINIC'S HAWAII
COUNTY YOUTH ANTIDRUG FUND COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM AWARD OF $1,000 TO
THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, the Bay Clinic, through its Hawaii County Youth Anti-Drug Fund Community Grants
Program, has awarded $1,000 to the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, these funds are derived from a grant provided by the federal government to Bay Clinic and
will be used to defray costs incurred by the County's Summer Fun Youth Camp held in Honoka'a; and
WHEREAS, the Youth Camp provides an opportunity for youngsters to experience camping and drug
awareness education in a recreational environment; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain the
consent of the council to expend and receive any funds or other assistance from the federal or state
governments in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to any powers granted by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, I3E IT RESOLVED EY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
authorizes the receipt and expenditure of funds for the Department of Parks & Recreation's Summer Fun
Youth Camp.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of
this resolution to the Departments of Finance and Parks and Recreation.
