Regarding: Bill 49
This Bill 49 is not likely to have been written by a farmer or nursery-person. It clearly is not well thought out and is
unrealistic. Although I've been growing 'awa nursery stock plants, durian, and native plant stock for many years out here
on Pepe'ekeo Point, I sure do not want to be committed to increments of 10 years! I am too old for that now. With property
taxes here on an increase, I must and I want to remain farming on myfee-simple, non-resident parcel, but I do not want to
be committed to 10 years at a time and more forms to fill out.
This bill, too, must be a nightmare for folks who lease their land to farmers.
