Subject: Taxicab Regulations
Attached for your consideration is a draft ordinance that restricts use of taxicab license
fees to enforcement of taxicab regulations in Hawaii County. We have discussed this draft
with Frederick Giannini, Deputy Corporation Counsel, and Dixie Kaetsu, Controller, for
appropriateness. Unused taxicab license fees from prior periods will be computed and
transferred to the Mass Transit Agency for enforcement purposes via separate
appropriations bill.
