The Hawaii Office of the Prosecuting Attorney was selected to receive two grant awards from
Hawaii's FY 2002 Edwazd Byme Memorial State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Formula Program
for the following projects:
Project Title; Sex Offender Publication and Trackine Program
Amount: $147,179 Federal

Project Title: Weed and Seed Coordinator
Amount: $ 52,222 Federal
$ 17.407 25% match
$ 69,629 Total

Your agency is responsible for providing the 25% match. If the project is unable to provide all of the
required match funds, please have the project director call the assigned specialist. -
An Applicant's Manual is being sent directly to Nancy Kelly for the Sex Offender Publication
program, and to Mitchell Roth for the Weed & Seed Coordinator. The Hawaii Office of the Prosecuting
Attomey will need to submit an original and two copies of the application for grant to the Department of the
Attomey General, Crime Prevention & Justice Assistance Division. Instructions on completing the -
application aze provided in the manual. We request that the project's start date be July 1, 2004, or no later
than August 1, 2004 as the FY 2002 Byme funds are only available until September 30, 2005,
