Dear Sirs:
We both urge you to approve the terms of this Acquisition
of Tax Map Key (3)1-5-002:024 for the development and
purchace of the land in order to further the
preservation of ~Yre Historic Parroa Business District.
This particular piece of land is the only geographic Ilocation
which satisfies the needs of the Pahoa businesses in that area
for parking for their patrons and for themselves and thBlr
empIloyees. The parking of tyre street itself is sadly deficient
in space. The County haw dictates eating and/or drinking
establishments provide adequet parking within so many feet
of thei8-businesses.
The private sector cannot oe depended upon to keep the parking
area open for the public use. Public parking is proven to be
essential to a healthy business atmosphere.
One only needs to look at the plot plan of a major retail mall
to understand what a large percentage of -dotal area is
c.evoted to parking.
The clean up of Pahoa is dependent on many factors one of which
is the Pahoa kesource Park and all of the planned facilities
therm: a ~dtlice Kiosk, a venue for public activities of a
positive nature and an area appropriate for toes busses to step
and patronize the Pahoa Businesses, as well as an ongoing
Farmer's Market.

The good of the Majority of the People of Pahoa is best served
by Approval of the Acquisition of Land for the
purposeof creating the Pahoa Village kesource Yark.
Pahoa is now emerging as a decent and clean Pillage and we do
need all of the assistances from our County in order to
stay on track and in line with Lhe wishes and energies of so many
of the Pahoa Community who have and are continueing to give of their
time and efforts in these directions.
