Workshop Format: In order to promote a healthy exchange between Committee members, administration, and members of the public, public comments will be encouraged throughout Committee discussion at the call of the Chair rather than at the customary beginning of the workshop. Generally, amendments proposed in this bill include, but are not limited to, the following: (I) Adds agricultural-related definitions to clarify terminology. (2) Clarifies the category of non-dediculed agricultural use ae.eessrnerrls; requires property to be in certain County zoning districts; changes the tax rollback period; and sets assessment at twice the dedicated productivity value. (3) Clarites the category of u~>ricul[urcd use dedicutirni by requiring new dedications be for 10 years and the dedicated property be used for commercial purposes (gross revenues of $2.000/year); grandfathers 20-year agricultural dedications; requires property to be in certain County zoning districts; changes hreach conditions; adds breach exceptions; changes rollback period; and modifies the dedication period to allow farmers/ranchers who lease their land to dedicate it for the period of their lease if that period is at least five years.
