In regazd to Bill No. 78, a bill amending Article 26, Chapter 2 of the Hawaii County
Code relating to salary grades for deputies in the office of the Corporation Counsel and
office of the Prosecuting Attorney, I am submitting the following information:
Proposed remuneration for deputies will be designated by the appointing authorities and
calculated at no less than 50% nor more than 90% of the salary of the Prosecuting
Attorney or Corporation Counsel, whichever is higher.

A-18 $66,384 Corporation Counsel
If this bill is passed the Prosecuting Attorney's salary will be used to calculate pay for
deputies, which would allow remuneration to range between $37,032-$66,657.
