meeting on September 14, 2004, for Comm. 745 (Res. 235-04)
I apologize for not being able to attend your meeting today. This memo provides
the additional information requested by Council member Fred Holschuh on the
Resolution Authorizing The Acceptance Of A Donation Of A Dressage Arena To
Be Used At The Parks And Recreation's Pana'ewa Equestrian Center.
Mike and Sandy Kroll purchased this dressage arena for their Hamakua property.
(They were living here at the time.) The company they purchased it from sent
the wrong arena, and later sent another one to fulfill the order. Since the
company did not want to pay for additional freight to have the wrong arena sent
back, they requested that the Kroll's donate the arena to anon-profit entity.
The Kroll's contacted Parks and Recreation to make the donation, and have
since moved to Atlanta, Georgia.
