SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
KAAPAHU ROAD-YIELD LOCATION (s)
BRIDGE NO. 44-7
The Hamakua Safety Council and the Honokaa Community Association requests that a
Yield sign be installed along Kaahapu Road on the east, (Hilo), side of Kalopa Gulch
Bridge because the roadway width between the bridge and the top of the gulch is not
wide enough for two-way traffic.
Presently, a Yield sign exists at the bottom, closer to the bridge, same approach as
proposed Yield sign; we asked the Hamakua representatives about this and they
request this sign remain as an added measure of safety.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment.
