RE: Support for West Hawaii Business Park Rezoning (Bill 309, Draft 2)
Dear Sirs,
The Kona -Kohala Chamber of Commerce supports the rezoning
application for West Hawaii Business Park-Rezoning (Bill No. 309 Draft 2).
In keeping with its mission statement - to be an advocate for the
expansion of business in West Hawaii as well as insure that expansion is
accomplished in concert with the area's environment and quality of life -the
Kona -Kohala Chamber of Commerce supports full concurrency to insure
there are adequate infrastructure improvements in place before a project is
occupied.
The Board of Directors of the Kona -Kohala Chamber of Commerce has
reviewed the West Hawaii Business Park rezoning application and finds the
concurrency provisions in Bill No. 309 Draft 2 adequately addresses
community concerns for concurrency.
There are numerous examples of developers not in compliance with
promised infrastructure improvements; however Lanihau Partners has
always done its part to support the concurrent development of infrastructure
and projects, most notably the construction of Henry Street in Kailua-Kona.
