Kim's veto of Cliftos Kona Coast rezoning.
Aloha Hawaii County Council Members,
I urge you not to override Mayor Kim's veto
of the Cliftos Kona Coast rezoning. The Queen Kaahumanu
Highway is already maxed out. It doesn't need more cars,
especially since the planned Phase II expansion is
not a sure thing for the foreseeable future.
Plus I'm concerned this will spread out
more urban sprawl outside of the core Kailua-Kona town.
Also another unknown is what impact will this project
have on the pristine ocean waters fronting this project.
This should be another nail in the coffin as I'm concerned
this project will have an adverse impact on the clean ocean
water NELHA uses.
Again I strongly urge you to not override
this veto of the rezoning. If you do, it will further fragment
this island.
