Do i override the Mayor's veto of Bill 178. The Council should take no action on any
mess a pertaining to zoning or land use, until such time as the Council fulfills it'c duty
to a' ve and adopt a Qeneral Plan as stated in Section 3-15 of the Hawaii County
Ch r.
Traffic will be dramatically impacted for the full period of construction. Each day will
requ workers to arrive and depart the work site. There will be the constant need for
truc)~excavating equipment, cement trucks, and all matmer of materials delivery to
acees~"gyy the site. Once major construcfion is complete, the frniching work of painters,
fulni hers, and landscapers will continue to congest the area. This is all before any hotel
roomll is rented, business commenced, or housing occupied.
If thi and other developments are allowed to proceed without regard to the needed
in$r sure sad against the expressed wishes of the residents, our island wil] be
irre rably damaged
Asa itiun, voter, anti taxpayer I request you sustain Mayor Kim's veto of Bill 178, the
Cliff 's projecK. It is time to as appropriately, not to continue to ignore the duties of
offi .and the requirements of the County Charter. This is another endeavor that ignores
the alines on the ground.
