RE: Bill l78 -vote to override Mayor's veto
Alo
I am writing this mcmo to strotttgly urge you to override Mayor Kim's veto of Bill 178
(Clift~). The public that is responding so "loud and cleat" as reoontly quoted in West
Hawaii Today is a vary vocal minority, many of them newcomers to our Island touting
the "list person off the Mainland boat" philosophy.
In m opinion, and the opinion of my family end circle of friends (all of voting age) this
pro project is not only a traffic mitigator, but of value to the community at
lage ..from additional oceanfront sires for the public to affordable housing and money to
be ' the planning of widening Queen Kaahutnenu Highway; add the opportunity to shop
wi ut contributing to the traffic mess the administration has bcen allowed to happen in '
Kail -Kona and the approval of this project should be a `ho btauter". Ah, but the mayor
is for re-election -perhaps that explains his kncc jerk reaction to a noisy
mino ity.
I stro gly support your vote to ovemde the veto, and will never support anyone for public
offic who does not vote to gverride. We taxpayers have a chaace to be a partner in
cons ions development, for the continued good of our Island -both the quality of life
here fl the economic stability of our economy.
i Plea vote to override the veto and know that many of us who are not making a big noise
in 1 ,err to the editor and faxes are just too dam busy working.
