Dear Dr. Holschuh:
The Big Island members of the Alliance for Retired Americans (ARA) fully support the
efforts of George Yokoyama to serve the transportation needs of senior citizens by
requesting that finAing for the HCEOC transportation program be increased.
At our meeting on September 28, 2004, ARA representatives from various unions heard
about transportation services being terminated and that seniors from the outlying areas of
Pahala, Naalehu and the Hamakua coast towns who rely on the elderly transportation
program would lose this valuable service.
The following unions were represented at the meeting and we all supported the motion to
support George Yokoyama and HCEOC transportation program: UPW, ILWU, HSTA-
R, HGEA-R, Firefighters.
We appreciate your consideration in this matter.
Yours truly,
