Dear Council Member.
We urge your support of Comm. 804 (Bill 350) which Ina des funds to update the
previous study (1990) and do a preliminary engineering dy of a sewer system in
downtown Honokaa. A comprehensive solution must be 'rovided to the business
community, the churches, community facilities and the 01 mmunity at large that will be
affected by the EPA ban on Large-Capacity Cesspools i Hawaii county and particularty
in Honoka'a.
As a commercial property owner on Mamene Street, we guld find it difficult - if not
impossible- to find space to install a septic system in the pace available. With so little
time remaining before the EPA deadline, we would wel the the opportunity to take
advantage of the completed Honokaa Facilities Plan of 90 and connect to the existing
sewer system. I
We appreciate the adoption of House Resolution 84, HD during the last legislative
session requesting collaboration of all affected agencies o ' develop a join
implementation plan, and Dr. Fred Holschuh's continui support.
