~~OLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING T'HE ACCEPTANCE OF A IVIONETARY DONATION OF $1,500 TO THE
HA9l6sAl`I COU~fTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
OIVHEREAS, Wal-Mart Hilo, as part of their community involvement program, has donated monies
totaling $1,500 to the Hawaii County Fire Department; and
~IIIHEREAS, this donation, $1,000 for fire prevention and $500 for health related issues, will be used for
the purchase of educational materials to be distributed to the public in commemoration of Fire Prevention
Week in the month of October and of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week in the month of May of next
year; and
~ONHER~AS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
VIfHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOS, TI~EREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVED RY THt~ COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA~PIlAI`I that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts the $1,500.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Glenn Schneider, Manager,
Wal-Mart Hilo, 325 E. Maka'ala Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
