Maka'ala Street, Hilo, Hawai'i 96720. These funds, donated as part of Wal-Mart Hilo's community involvement program, will be used towards the purchase of educational materials to be distributed to the public in commemoration of Fire Prevention Week in October and of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week in May 2005. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the $1,500 monetary donation into the Fire Department's Fire Protection and Fire Prevention OCE accounts. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): Wal-Mart Hilo, as part of their community involvement program has donated monies totaling $1,500 to the Hawaii County Fire Department. The funds are to be used to purchase educational materials to be distributed to the public. $1,000 is earmarked for fire prevention, and $500 for health related issues.
