Re: Operating Budget
The State of Hawai'i Department of Transportation has authorized a $24,144 Highway Safety
Training Program Grant to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. These grants funds, derived
from federal funds, will be used to conduct Statewide training sessions on DUI Enforcement and
Prosecution and on Crash Reconstruction Dynamics, vehicles and occupant kinematics.
Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawai'i
Department of Transportation for this grant.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this
$24,144 Highway Safety Training Program Grant.

We have received a new grant award through the State Department of Transportation. It will be used to
conduct Statewide training sessions for DUI Enforcement and Crash Reconstruction Dynamics.
We are requesting that the funds be distributed as follows:
