RE: Resolution Affirming the Continued Civil Service Status
of Certain Positions in the Office of the County Clerk/Council
This is to transmit a resolution that affirms the continued civil service status of eight positions in
the Committee and Council Services Sections of the Office of the County Clerk/Council. These
include the council services supervisor positions, council services assistant positions, and the
legislative information and reference technician position.
The purpose of this resolution is to assert the Council's direction as it relates to civil service
positions and exempt positions.

RE: Resolution No. 264-04 Affirming the Continued Civil Service Status of
Certain Positions in the Office of the County Clerk/Council.
Pursuant to Section I (g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, 1 understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
