Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, which authorizes
the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal property, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawai'i County Code, which states that any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance
shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we request the Council's approval of the
following donation:
Art Work entitled "Recycle Right Now" (total estimated value of $100.00) to the Department
of Environmental Management (DEM), to increase public awareness of how solid waste
trash items can be used in a positive, creative manner and to bring attention to how
cigarettes are inappropriately disposed of throughout our County and State; to be located in
the DEM's administrative office in the County Building, by Ms. Toby S. Hazel, RR4 Box 2298,
Pahoa, Hawai'i 96778.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to this donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.
