Dear Mavor Kim: ~
You were reyuested by the Hawaii County Council in accordance with Resolution 224-04,
to form a committee to develop a transition and implementation plan for conversion from
subsidized private vehicles in police service to a county-owned fleet of police vehicles
commencing in fiscal year 2006-2007.
lluring our brief conversation outside your Kona office, you stated that you would leave
this project to the police commission as representatives of the community.
We have discussed this,and with all due respect this is not in accordance with the
resolution and we believe if the Council had intended that to happen they would have
indicated same in the resolution sum of $ 20,000.00 was also earmarked for this study,
We request must strongly that you follow the intent of the resolution in order this project
caa nave ahead since the lack of action will again delay forward movement further.
