RESOLUTION AUTIiORIZIN(3 THE PAYM-ENT' OF FUN®S OF ~ L~dTER FISCAL YEAR AN® OF'

WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WB~i1=REAS, it is essential for the County of Hawaii to have a minimum of thirty-seven (37) dependable refuse
trailers operating seven (7) days per week islandwide for solid waste operations; and
WHEREAS, the County will need two (2) refuse trailers to manage the increased quantities of solid waste and to
support the proposed South Kona/Ka'u transfer station; and
WHEREAS, there are no available rental replacements for refuse trailers; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a five (5} year contract to lease with purchase options for two (2)
refuse trailers for solid waste operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVE® RY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Mayor is
hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with purchase options for the acquisition of two (2) refuse
trailers for solid waste operations and that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
~E IT FURTHER RESOLVE® that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to the Mayor's Office and the
Departments of Finance and Environmental Management.
