Dear Chairman Arakaki and Members of the County Council:
SUBJECT: Multiyear Resolution for Accounts Division Copier (Res 263-04)
In response to Mr. Tyler's question at the Finance Committee meeting regarding the
above resolution, we have performed a cost analysis regarding a new copier for the
Accounts Division of the Finance Department. We are currently paying approximately
$200 per month (varies based on actual copies) for our copy machine, the new machine
would cost approximately $230 per month.
After carefully addressing our needs in the Accounts Division in relation to the copy
machine bid put out by the Purchasing Division, we have determined that it would be in
our best interest to move to a laser print engine multifunction device. The machine we
are looking at would cost approximately $30.00 more per month, however, we would
have an additional 2,000 copies per month than what we are currently using. This extra
capacity would be used to print FRESH reports from the various PC's in our office. This
would save us having to buy another printer and additional toner for our office.
