From Department of Water Supply Manager Milton D. Pavao, dated September 14.
?004, informing that in compliance with Hawaii Administrative Rules Title 1 1,
Section 21, all government agencies will be required to install a DWS approved
backflow prevention assembly immediately after the water meter. States they will
pursue this compliance effort, with private customers as well, beginning July I. 2005.
Advance notice is being provided so that agencies may properly budget for the next
kcal year.

into the Department of Research and Developments Product Development
Enrichment Procram grant account)

above bill. 'T'he State of Hawaii -Hawaii Tourism Authority is providing additional
funding to the above grant. The extra funding ensures that the contract management
procedures and the overall administration of the program continue to run smoothly.

Training Program Grant)
Prom Finance Director William Takaba, dated October 22, 2004, transmitting the
above resolution and bill. The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation has
authorized the above grant to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. These funds,
derived from federal funds, will be used to conduct Statewide training sessions on
DUI Enforcement and Prosecution and on Crash Reconstruction Dynamics, vehicles
and occupant kinematics.

above resolution and bill. The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation has
authorized a highway safety reimbursement project, proposed by the Hawaii County
Fire Department. This project, entitled "Hawai'i County Fire Department Equipment
Purchase" will use the grant funds to eliminate the need to transfer patients from
spinal immobilization boards to obtain x-rays by purchasing fifty (50) radio
translucent spine boards.

Council's approval of the above donation. The purpose of the donation is to increase
public awareness of how solid waste trash items can be used in a positive, creative
manner and to bring attention to how cigarettes are inappropriately disposed of
throughout our County and State. The art work will be located in the Department of
Environmental Management's Administrative Office in the County Building in I lilo.
