ORGANIZATIONS AWARDED FY 2004-04 GRAN'T'S
From Legislative Auditor Connie Kiriu, Program/Fiscal Review Auditor Rory Flynn
and Legislative Auditor Assistant Amy Miwa, dated October 22. 2004_ submitting
the above reports. Attad~ed is a report summary prepared by the Legislative
Auditor's Office detailing FY 2003-04 nonprofit appropriations and actual year-end
expenditures reported by organizations awarded County grants; as well as the
narrative and year-end revenue/expenditure reports received by the Legislative
Auditor from nonprofit agencies pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 25. §2-142. Hawaii
County Code, in alphabetical order. Details noteworthy findings in the reports.
Concludes that the nonprofit grant provides a limited amount of funding for an
increasing number of applicants and recommends that a fresh look be given to the
grant award practices.
