Dear Mr. Ben,
The Hawaii County Committee on Finance will hold a meeting on June 17, 1997, at
10:30 a.m. At that time, we would like to provide committee members an opportunity to
hear information in regard to alleged improprieties in a recent fire department placement
exam. Therefore, we would like to request the your attendance and those involved in
the investigation of the fire exam in question.
The Committee on Finance is confident that your department is conducting an
evenhanded investigation into this matter, nonetheless, we are interested in working
together with Civil Service, the Fire Department and the Hawaii Pire Fighters
Association, to preclude this from happening once more.
