AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 96-68, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1,
1996 TO JUNE 30, 1997.
WHEREAS, the Oshiro, Kalopa/Aliipali, and Kaumoali Bridges are
functionally and structurally deficient; and
WHEREAS, these three bridges have low sufficiency ratings and
high maintenance costs; and
WHEREAS, matching Federal Funds are available for replacement of
these bridges; and
WHEREAS, funds for the County's share of the cost are available
in the circle island district account appropriated by Ordinance No.
95-79 and designated for bridge inspection, maintenance, repair and
replacement.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 96-68, As Amended, Relating to Public
Improvements and Financing Thereof for the Fiscal Year July 1, 1996
to June 30, 1997, is hereby amended by adding the following projects
to the circle island district appropriation, as appropriated by
Ordinance No. 95-79:
Bridge Inspection, Maintenance, Repair and Replacement (federal aid)
Oshiro Bridge
Kalopa/Aliipali Bridge
Kaumoali Bridge
SECTION 2. Funds for these projects are available in the Bridge
Inspection, Maintenance, Repair and Replacement (federal aid) account
(110-399-5399.56-115).
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
