Yamashiro, dated January 18, 1996, submitting for confirmation the following appointments to the Kailua Village Design Commission: Stephen P. Bobko-Hillenaar, a 21-year resident of Hawaii, and since 1981 has been a stockbroker with Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc.; Leimana K. DaMate, a lifetime resident of Hawaii, and since 1988 has been with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (West Hawaii); and Diana R. Nui, a 36-year resident of Hawaii, and presently the Director of the Kona Historical Society Kailua Village Walking Tour Program. If confimed, these individuals will be replacing Charles R. Cartwright, Kaz Shiqezawa and Robert D. Triantos, whose respective terms expired on December 31, 1995, and will each serve terms to December 31, 1998. Crook adopting the street names for unnamed roadways within Keekee Estates Subdivision, Keekee, South Kona, as follows: Aolani Place - Heavenly cloud Aolani Street - Heavenly cloud Muli Street - After, behind (Extension of existing road) Comm. 930: RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE LEGISLATURE TO AMEND (Res. 253) CHAPTER 205-6, H.R.S., REGARDING ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL PERMITS BY COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSIONS From Councilmember Keola Childs, dated January 9, 1996, transmitting a resolution requesting the Legislature amend Chapter 205-6, HRS, to eliminate the autonomy of the appointed planning commissions and instead provide that the councils of the several counties may, by ordinance, establish procedures for the permitting of "unusual and reasonable" uses in rural and agricultural districts which procedures may include the delegation of some or all of the permitting responsibilities to their planning commissions.
