RE: Resolution Requesting Special Legislative Session
Kovno v. County of Hawaii
Attached is a Resolution introduced by all nine council members requesting a Special Legislative
Session to resolve the cloud that currently hangs over the state caused by the Supreme Court
decision in Kovno v. County of Hawaii.
In addition, pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Council's rules of Procedure, this written
approval is submitted for numbering and waiving from the Committee on Finance in order that
appropriate action can be taken by the Council at its June 18, 1997, meeting.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such a waiver be granted.
